Carole Duhayer lives and works in Paris. She was born in 1978. She travelled throughout Europe and the United States before studying Design at the Nissim de Camondo School, Paris. She also studied painting at the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Paris.
It was when she visited the Serge Poliakoff exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art that she had a real aesthetic shock. The second after the Alhambra of Granada and its Moorish architecture, its lace-like design of the stone. This was the trigger to produce a series of drawings. A few months later, she presented them in a group exhibition held all summer at the Galerie Couteron, rue Guénégaud, Paris 6e.
Her diploma from the Camondo School, obtained in 2005, is certainly a major factor in this, as she is still experimenting with notions of colour, space and form. She mixes these disciplines in a same formal research around the motif and the ornament and questions the decorative reinterpretation claimed by Klee or Matisse. Her activity in art extends to the world of design where she has collaborated on international projects with Philippe Starck, Tino Zervudachi, Gilles & Boissier among others; Samsung in design and aeronautics.
