Catherine Leo

Catherine Leo, was born in Lyon (France) in 1994.

She graduated in Fine Arts at the Wimbledon College of Arts, after studying and researching in London, India and Taiwan.

She currently lives and works in Milan.

Her personal life path has allowed her to deal with distant cultures and traditions that have influenced her artistic practice. In her journey in search of the self, the artist has often distanced herself from the community in an attempt to find herself in isolation, only to then feel the need to return to the community and reintegrate into it: the need to perceive herself as an individual necessarily part of a whole in harmony with other individual forms illusorily perceived as other than herself.

This process is reflected in numerous works, through the repetition of circular figures that the artist moulds as a symbol and representation of a primordial unity that contains everything and from which everything moves, a unity achieved and configured in the integration of individual elements, which contribute to the purpose of this unity without losing their specific individuality and spatial and temporal positions.
