Hartmut Böhm is a German object artist. His work is characterized by a thematic rigor, as well as by its stringent development over more than four decades. Böhm's works owe themselves to a clear systematic production process, based on mathematical and geometric principles, which can be followed by the beholders at any time. In doing so, the works achieve dynamic and sometimes confusing effects, which stand in a relationship of tension to the clarity of their structure.

Böhm has shown his work in numerous solo exhibitions in Germany and abroad since the early 1960s. He has also been involved in authoritative international group exhibitions on constructive and kinetic art, as well as light art. Hartmut Böhm is represented in numerous international museums including: MUMOK Vienna | Pinakothek der Moderne Munich | Kunstmuseum Bonn |Lousianna Museum Humlebaeck | Museum Haus Konstruktiv Zurich | Tel Aviv Museum of Art | Busch-Reisinger Museum Cambridge | Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade | Museum Sztubi Lodz | At paper positions hamburg two important series for the artist
will be shown from the 1990s.
