Ege Kanar studied at the Sabancı University Visual Arts and Communication Design Program; he received his graduate degree in Photography from the Academy of Performing Arts Prague (F.A.M.U.). In his work, Kanar focuses on the ontology of lens-based images, and the intermediary function that photographs play in scientific disciplines, and cultural practices. Sound has also become part of his recent works which deal with representation, memory, rhythm, scale, and materiality. Kanar was one of the residents at SAHA Studio in 2021. He continues to live and work in Istanbul.
