Delicate walk along the café of Montparnasse.
1967 Bucarest, Romania
Born in 1967, Raluca Vulcan has been passionate about the art of drawing since her childhood, as evidenced by the resembling and expressive portraits drawn from the age of 5.
In spite of herself, she chooses the scientific path (bac C) in secondary school. At the age of 13, she obtained the 1st Prize at a drawing competition in Bucharest, in front of the college students of the College of Art. Despite this success her parents still destined her for a medical career.
Raluca Vulcan's life is made up of twists and turns and risk-taking. First upheaval when, in 1986, she fled, in 1986, her native country, communist Romania, for France, at the age of 19.
Followed by, as promised to his parents who remained in Romania, a preparatory year in Faculty of Medicine in Paris. Then she joined the course of an Advertising School, "Atelier Albers" attached to Iscom, then a 3D Computer Graphics training in Paris, which led her to work in video game companies. Years of 3D computer graphics designer (modeling and animation) followed, but that did not replace her desire to draw and paint.
To satisfy her need for drawing, during these "metro-work-sleep" years, she occasionally sketched discreetly passengers in the metro ... After long years spent away from the art world, Raluca took the risk of questioning herself ; she left her activity as a 3D Graphic Designer in 2006, to embark on a professional career as a Painter.
A quick visit to two supervised painting workshops leaves her unsatisfied ... and she decides to take charge of herself by launching herself as an autodidact, instinctively, and to participate in Art Salons. Her first participation earned her a Prize. Others will follow. She dedicates her first era to Nudes and Portraits, with the production of "flowered women".
Since 2015 she has also been dealing with Urban Landscapes, scenes of life, in a colorful, luminous and intense vision. Her productions are the result of a joyful interpretation of life, which she makes fresh and sparkling with colors. Since 2006, Raluca Vulcan has received numerous awards for her achievements.
She is part of the permanent exhibition at the Gallery and is present in numerous private and public collections in France and abroad.
