Bronze sculpture
1967 Anços Sintra, Portugal
Rogério Timóteo Rogério Timóteo was born in Anços, Sintra in 1967 and became involved very early in the arts, but was in the encounter with sculptor Pedro Anjos Teixeira, of whom he was a student for five years, which opened up perspectives for sculpture. Born and raised in a region predominantly linked to the extraction and processing of marble, it is the way he chooses the marble as raw material preferred for the sculptures, not excluding, however approaches to new materials and techniques, such as bronze and more recently resins. He presented 31 solo exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, and over 200 group exhibitions. Developed and made 30 sculptures for public spaces, eight of them on a monumental scale. Rogério Timóteo is represented in different museums and in several private collections in Portugal and abroad. He currently lives and works in Sintra.
