The inspiration for this series comes from my thinking about the current world pattern. When capitalists can not get profit, they will choose wars and create chaos. The peaceful world became fragmented, people rose up in rebellion, eager to rebuild a new world of peace and order.Throughout history, the rise and fall of every empire has repeated the same pattern. The more chaotic things are, the clearer the truth is, and when the chaos is extreme, a new order will usher in.We say everything has two sides, yin and yang, exterior and interior, virtual and real, etc.The lines in painting represent static and orderly entities (Yin),The chaotic elements symbolize the impermanent illusion (Yang). The two sides of things are contradictory, but interdependent and mutually transformed.Through a piece of work, it shows a seemingly contradictory unity and expresses a complete microcosm, which is I want to express.

1980 Beijing, China

Jia Yuan-Hua is a Chinese artist born in 1980 who lives and works in Beijing, China. Jia’s paintings are mainly based on oil and acrylic on canvases. His contemporary artworks focus on social issues such as the protection of historical buildings, the inheritance of traditional culture, the conflict between tradition and contemporary times, education reform and the sustainable development of the natural ecological environment. There are two main forms of expression in his works. One is a common realistic technique for paintings. The other form is to use an oil painting knife carving the surface of the oil on canvas with using also lines to express the outline of objects, either existed or vanished.
