Brave New World

Zdenka Palkovic is a Swiss artist born in 1950 with Slovakian origins who lives and works in Challex, Switzerland. Painting is equivalent to abandoning the tumult of one's intrusive thoughts to connecting with one's inner self in a parallel world where the brush becomes the magic wand that reveals the unsuspected beauties of being. Self-taught painter, Zdenka Palkovic perpetuates a tradition started three generations ago in her family. As a teenager, Zdenka attended the School of Fine Arts for five years in Bratislava. Since 2008, she has expressed herself fully through painting, and her works have evolved considerably. She begins with portraits, then seized by nature and its wonders, contemplated during travels around the world she finally found a certain exaltation in abstract painting. The pencil gives way to acrylic, Indian ink, oil and finally stained glass on canvas. Her creative expression transports her to a universe where the vibration of colors, sensations and intuition become predominant. She gets in tune with what she feels deep inside. His universe is between pure abstraction and mineral reality, between dream and matter.
