Born in 1968, Valérie Zimmermann is a self-taught painter and ceramist from the Vosges. She will study throughout her life in sewing, production management, psychology and nutritherapy. It's 1997, After an NDE (near death experience) and a coma during a badly conducted surgery, she returns as an amateur to her childhood and adolescent loves: art. It was not until 2015 that she decided to exhibit. It will be during an international pastel fair in Ballaruc les Bains where she will exhibit 6 works in pastel and win the first prize. She will then exhibit in Canada, Spain and France where she will receive other awards for her pastel work.

From pastel, she will switch to oil painting where she will exhibit two years in a row in Spain where she will receive the first prize. Currently, her medium is acrylic paint, sometimes with watercolors. Her atmospheric scenes where colorful characters walk around are the result of her love for the wild beaches of Normandy which inspire him peace and harmony. She enjoys painting in a state of meditation when thought is absent as a kind of extension and expression of a spiritual journey initiated in 1997.

Unfortunately, she passed away in May 2021 ...
She also was know under her pseudonyme "Ana Mya Zimmer"; some of her pieces are signed under this name.
